Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (ED&I)
Welcome to our Equality, Diversity, & Inclusion principles where you’ll find more information on our strategic objectives, our commitment to promoting ED&I, and our action plan to increase ED&I across the association. These principles are in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (UK).
Our ED&I principles
- We value diversity and recognise that different people bring different perspectives, ideas, knowledge, and culture, and that this difference brings great strength.
- We treat people with dignity and respect.
We believe that discrimination or exclusion based on individual characteristics and circumstances, such as age, religion, disability, socio-economic background, etc. represents a waste of talent and a denial of opportunity.
- We respect the rights of individuals, including the right to hold different views and beliefs. We will not allow these differences to be manifested in a way that is hostile or degrading to other members.
- We expect commitment and involvement from all our members, in working towards the achievement of our vision.
- The association takes seriously breaches of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity principles by members. Breaches are investigated with the intent of resolving such matters. Where appropriate, such instances may be considered under the relevant disciplinary action.
