The primary objective is to build friendship and brotherhood through support from each other. This helps to cultivate sense of family and belonging, and community building.
Our Story
Birth of the association could be traced back to summer 2013, when a group of Ghanaian men living in Milton Keynes decided to come together in friendship with one objective i.e., to support each other and wider Ghanaian community. Although their numbers were low at the time, they made positive impact with their contributions in the form of donations, visitations, counselling, and representation of the Ghanaian community.
Meetings were initially held at devoted members residence but has since been structured and well organised on the last Sunday of each calendar month at dedicated association founded premises. The association is governed by legal constitution which provides accountability, equality, diversity, and inclusiveness within members. The constitution also forms the basis on which leadership are elected to lead for 2 years, but subject to 2 maximum terms in office. Due to the robustness of the legal framework set by the association, leaders in office are accountable to their members.
What our members say
Discover firsthand experiences and testimonials from our valued members. Here is what they have to say about their experience as members of MK Men
I have been a member for over five year. Joining the association has given me a sense of friendship and support aside my family. In fact, I can consider MK Men as a family of brothers rather than a mere association. For instance, the members would check on you and provide support if not seen at meetings for a while. As amongst others, these support can be in the form of finances and/or emotional. Secondly, the self-funded summer events barbecues, beach trips with families helps bring the Ghanaian community together.
