Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (ED&I)
Our Commitment to EDI
At MK Men Association, we are committed to fostering a culture where equity, diversity, and inclusion are embedded in everything we do. Our EDI principles guide how we work, how we support our members, and how we contribute to the wider community. These principles are aligned with the expectations and protections outlined in the Equality Act 2010 (UK), ensuring that every member is treated fairly, respectfully, and without discrimination.
We recognise that our strength as an Association comes from the richness of our backgrounds, experiences, views, and identities. By embracing these differences, we build a more vibrant, supportive, and forward-thinking community.
1. We Value Diversity
We recognise that each member brings unique perspectives, experiences, and cultural strengths. These differences enrich our Association and enhance our ability to learn, grow, and support one another.
2. We Treat Everyone with Dignity and Respect
Every member has the right to be treated with fairness, courtesy, and professionalism. We expect all interactions within the Association to reflect mutual respect and positive regard.
3. We Reject Discrimination and Exclusion
We do not tolerate discrimination or exclusion based on characteristics such as age, religion, disability, ethnic background, socio-economic status, or any other protected or personal characteristic. Such actions deny individuals opportunity and undermine the values we stand for.
4. We Respect Different Beliefs and Perspectives
Members hold diverse views, beliefs, and life experiences. While we value open expression, we will not allow any opinion or behaviour to be expressed in a manner that is hostile, harmful, or degrading to others.
5. We Require Shared Responsibility
EDI is a collective responsibility. We expect all members to contribute to creating an inclusive environment and to actively support the Association in achieving its vision of unity, empowerment, and positive contribution.
6. We Address Breaches Seriously
The Association takes any breach of our EDI principles seriously. Concerns or incidents will be investigated with fairness and sensitivity, with the aim of resolving issues constructively. Where necessary, matters may be considered under the Association’s disciplinary procedures.
Our EDI Promise
MK Men Association is committed to building a community where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered. We strive to ensure that equity guides our decisions, diversity strengthens our identity, and inclusion shapes every member’s experience. Through collective effort and accountability, we work to uphold an environment where every member can thrive.
