Welcome to the MK Men Association – Men with Vision!
It is with joy, humility, and deep gratitude that I welcome you as the newly elected Chairman of this Association. MK Men is more than a group — it is a family of purpose-driven men united by friendship, faith, and a shared commitment to building a stronger Ghanaian community in Milton Keynes.
Since our journey began in 2017, alongside our first Chairman, we have worked tirelessly to build an association rooted in unity, service, and progress. What started as a small group with a big dream has grown into a vibrant and respected community organisation. Over the years, I have had the honour of serving as Organiser, Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and now as Chairman. Each role has strengthened my appreciation for what we can accomplish together through integrity, transparency, and teamwork.
As I begin this new chapter, my focus is clear — to continue pursuing the vision of MK Men Association: to establish a community hall for the Ghanaian community in Milton Keynes. This hall will be more than a building; it will be a home for our culture and a place for generations to gather and grow. I believe in discipline, teamwork, tolerance, honesty, and results-oriented leadership, and I will continue to uphold these principles as we move forward together.

About Us
Milton Keynes Men Association, (MK Men), represent the interest of over 160 members living within a 30 miles radius of Milton Keynes City in Buckinghamshire County, United Kingdom.
The Association works to provide networking and support for its members in sharing advice, issues, and ideas. Since its establishing in 2011, membership have risen from 10 to 160 members by the end of 2023. The Associations aims at promoting and empowering Ghanaian men living within its catchment area for improved communal socialization, hospitality, and sustainable contributions to the general community.
The Milton Keynes Men Association (MK Men) envisions a community where Ghanaian men and their families are informed, empowered, and actively engaged in shaping positive outcomes in their lives and society.
We provide a trusted forum where members can discuss matters of shared interest, including education, employment, health and wellbeing, crime awareness, and wider community participation. Through open dialogue and collaboration, MK Men strives to foster a supportive environment that strengthens families, promotes informed decision-making, and encourages meaningful contributions within the community.
At MK Men Association, our values guide how we support one another and serve our community. We are built on unity, creating a welcoming space where Ghanaian men connect as brothers. With strong cultural pride, we honour and preserve our Ghanaian heritage, ensuring it remains a source of identity and strength.

Our Story
The origins of the Milton Keynes Men Association (MK Men) reflect the timeless Ghanaian wisdom that “Nkabom yɛ ahoɔden” — Unity is strength.” In the summer of 2013, a group of about 20 Ghanaian men in Milton Keynes recognised the need to come together to support one another while preserving their shared identity, culture, and values. This early brotherhood embraced the motto “Men with Vision – No Shaken!”, a declaration of confidence, resilience, and determination. For the Association, the motto represents the unwavering spirit of Ghanaian men who remain focused, forward-thinking, and unshaken by challenges. It continues to guide MK Men’s purpose, inspiring members to support each other, uphold their culture, and build a stronger community for future generations.
In those early years, members made meaningful contributions through donations, visitations, counselling, and community representation, offering support wherever it was needed. These efforts strengthened the group’s purpose and laid the foundation for a more structured and organised approach as the number of members continued to grow.
Meetings initially took place in the homes of dedicated members, echoing the warmth and hospitality deeply rooted in Ghanaian culture. As membership expanded and the group’s role became more defined, the need for formal organisation grew as well. In 2017, recognising the importance of establishing clear governance and long-term sustainability, the group formally constituted itself as the Milton Keynes Men Association and elected its first executive leadership team.
Today, MK Men holds its organised meetings on the last Sunday of each month at a dedicated venue, providing a professional environment for planning, collaboration, and community engagement. The Association operates under a formal legal constitution, ensuring transparency, accountability, equality, and inclusiveness in all activities. Leadership terms are set at two years, with a maximum of two consecutive terms, ensuring continuity while welcoming new perspectives.
From a hopeful idea shared among a few to a thriving organisation now serving over 160 members, MK Men’s journey continues to embody the wisdom of the Ghanaian proverb: “Ti koro nko agyina” — One head does not go into counsel.” Our strength has always come from working together, supporting one another, and building a legacy that will continue to uplift Ghanaian men in Milton Keynes for generations to come.

I have been a member for over five year. Joining the association has given me a sense of friendship and support aside my family. In fact, I can consider MK Men as a family of brothers rather than a mere association. For instance, the members would check on you and provide support if not seen at meetings for a while. As amongst others, these support can be in the form of finances and/or emotional. Secondly, the self-funded summer events barbecues, beach trips with families helps bring the Ghanaian community together.
